The protocols below have been developed under our 2007-9 UNIFEM GBV Project for use in training of the relevant workers in handling sexual and domestic violence matters. It is hoped that the obstacles faced in the development of a protocol for health workers will be removed before the project comes to an end.

This booklet is a guide to better understanding the 2010 Sexual Offence Act as amended by the Sexual Offences (Amendment) Act 2013 (the SOA). It covers the various sexual offences, police investigation, court proceedings including evidence and sentencing, and sexual violence prevention
