The 12 month (1 November 2010 to 31 October 2011) project was funded by a small grant of G$3,689,100 awarded by Tetra Tech ARD, the implementer of the USAID-funded Governance Enhancement Project (GEP) in Guyana.
The goal of the project was to enhance the services provided by Help & Shelter personnel, volunteers, community-based workers and representatives of selected CBOs, NGOs and state agencies in addressing domestic violence through training and capacity-building workshops focusing on
- Training in Monitoring & Evaluation and Documentation & Dissemination
- Training in the new Sexual Offences Act
- Upgrading counseling skills
- Follow-up counseling training for community-based workers
- Training in Family Planning
- Training in Child Counseling
- Management; financial management; project proposal writing; community mobilization; advocacy; M&E and leadership skills)
