Training & Capacity Building to Enhance Service Delivery (Funded by the USAID Governance Enhancement Project)

The 12 month (1 November 2010 to 31 October 2011) project was funded by a small grant of G$3,689,100 awarded by Tetra Tech ARD, the implementer of the USAID-funded Governance Enhancement Project (GEP) in Guyana.

The goal of the project was to enhance the services provided by Help & Shelter personnel, volunteers, community-based workers and representatives of selected CBOs, NGOs and state agencies in addressing domestic violence through training and capacity-building workshops focusing on

1. Training in Monitoring & Evaluation and Documentation & Dissemination
2. Training in the new Sexual Offences Act
3. Upgrading counseling skills
4. Follow-up counseling training for community-based workers
5. Training in Family Planning
6. Training in Child Counseling
7. Management; financial management; project proposal writing; community mobilization; advocacy; M&E and leadership skills)
