UN Women Counseling and Community Social Mobilisation Support

Provision of psycho-social support to victims/survivors of gender-based violence and child abuse and building the capacity of communities to prevent and respond to violence against women and girls through community social mobilisation initiatives in partnership with UN Women

UN Women responded positively to our request for support to continue our counselling services after the end of the Help & Shelter/EU co-funded human rights project at the end of June 2014, and is providing GYD6,165,000 to very largely cover the cost of 4 75%-time counsellors and social mobilisation work in the West Bank Demerara communities of Parfaite Harmonie, Canal # 2 and Vive La Force for the period July 2014 to June 2015.
