Doronai Champion Riders Make Second Donation to Help & Shelter

On 23 July 2009 Doronai Champion Riders presented a cheque for $300,000 to Help & Shelter as the proceeds from their sponsored ride from Corriverton to Georgetown on 4 July 2009.

This is the second donation received from the cyclists: in May 2009 they donated $240,000 to Help & Shelter as the proceeds of their ride from Charity to Georgetown.

In addition making a financial contribution to Help & Shelter’s work, the team also raise public awareness about violence in the home and the services offered by Help & Shelter by distributing leaflets along the route.

The team is sponsored by Edward B. Beharry & Co. Ltd and rides under the banner ‘Riding with the spirit of friendship for the spirit of charity’.

Both donations are being/will be used towards much needed repairs and refurbishment to the shelter and crisis centre.

Doronai plans 2 more rides before the end of the year.
